Michigan Blood is partnering with the Saginaw Spirit to host the Saginaw Spirit SAVES Blood Drive.

The blood drive will run from 2 p.m. - 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 22 at Garber Buick, 5925 State in Saginaw in the community showroom. Saginaw Spirit players and Sammy Spirit will be in attendance for photos and every person who attempts to donate will be entered to win a Saginaw Spirit limo package experience for 12. Annie from Mix 106.3 will also be at the drive from 2 p.m. – 3 p.m. hosting a live radio remote broadcast.

“It takes all of us working together to supply the blood needs of our community,” said Craig Goslin, president and managing partner for the Saginaw Spirit. “The Saginaw Spirit Hockey Club and our charitable foundation are honored to partner with Michigan Blood to educate, create awareness and encourage our community to give blood and save lives right here at home. One of the lives that you save by giving blood, might be your own, or that of a loved one.”

To schedule an appointment to donate, individuals can visit www.miblood.org or call 1-866-MIBLOOD. Any healthy person 17 or older (or 16 with parental consent) who weighs at least 110 pounds may be eligible to give blood every 56 days.

Michigan Blood hosts more than 3,700 blood drives a year to help meet the needs of local hospitals across Michigan including Covenant HealthCare and St. Mary’s of Michigan.
