Michigan Blood recently honored Morley Companies, Inc. with a Ruby Award for their efforts as a blood drive host.
Morley President & CEO Paul Furlo, along with associate blood donors, accepted the award at a presentation held at Morley’s Saginaw campus. Morley is the only business in Saginaw County to host six blood drives per year, giving its associates the opportunity to donate the maximum amount of blood in a 365-day period. Morley has hosted over 100 drives since 2004, collecting more than 1,400 units of blood.
“We are thrilled that so many of our associates are passionate about this important cause,” said Furlo, “Our associates care about the community, and today’s Ruby Award is a great honor for them. We’re very proud of their ongoing efforts to save lives by giving.”
Michigan Blood’s Ruby award recognizes the efforts of community partners who go above and beyond to help save lives through blood donation. “Morley holds multiple blood drives each year,” said Colleen Carty, community relations specialist for Michigan Blood, “We are grateful for their support and the countless blood collected to help patients in Michigan hospitals."
Michigan Blood hosts more than 3,600 blood drives a year to help meet the needs of local hospitals across Michigan including Covenant HealthCare and St. Mary’s of Michigan.
