Now At New Location:  St. Joseph Donor Center

MCBC’s St. Joseph Community Donor Center is now located at 2710 Cleveland Avenue (at the red star on the map below). Blood donation hours are Noon to 7 p.m. on Tuesdays, and 8 a.m. to Noon the first Saturday of every month.

With adaptive retrofitting, the 10,000-square-foot building will house a blood donation area, employee work spaces, a staging area for mobile blood drives, garage space for Blood Center vehicles, and eventually a laboratory for blood component processing.

From July, 2005, when MCBC became the blood provider for Lakeland HealthCare, until mid-March this year, MCBC administered its operations in Berrien County operations from space within the Lakeland Center for Outpatient Services.

 “We really appreciate Lakeland having made the space available,” said Doug deBest, MCBC site manager in Berrien County, “but we’re at the point where we just need more room.”

A first phase of retrofitting at the Cleveland Avenue building will be completed this summer, and a second phase will be finished by next winter.
