“The blood that is donated (at blood drives) helps many people who would not have a chance for a new start in life,” says Carolyn, who chaired the 2004 Martin Luther King Day Commemorative Blood Drive in Midland.
“For me, donating blood is part of giving back what God has given me. You never know whose life you may change.” Carolyn first realized the need for blood when a close friend had surgery – and then just two years ago, Carolyn’s brother needed blood during a liver transplant. Carolyn herself now has donated more than a gallon of blood.
