Born prematurely at 33 weeks, Kyle spent the first nine weeks of his life in the Neonatal Unit at Saint Mary’s Health Care in Grand Rapids. Blood transfusions were part of the complex treatment he received as doctors and nurses worked to save his life.

“Without donated blood, Kyle would have died,” says his father, Eric.

Now, Kyle is a lively five-year-old with a winning smile and abundant energy.

“He has a great future thanks to someone who gave part of themselves to help another person,” Eric says. “Thank you to all the people that help by giving blood.”
