National Blood Collectors Week was launched in 2005 by AABB (formerly American Association of Blood Banks) and Fenwal Inc. to promote and recognize the contributions of phlebotomists, apheresis personnel, and other blood collection professionals, with emphasis on the importance of their skill in creating a positive experience for blood donors.
