A new program launched this year awards a $500 Michigan Community Blood Centers Scholarship to each high school that hosts two or more blood drives per school year, each drive signing in 30 or more prospective donors; the school chooses its scholarship winner from among applicants who intend to pursue higher education in science or health care.
