Volunteers: Everett
Every Thursday, Everett shows up voluntarily to help out at MCBC’s community donation center in Manistee, at West Shore Medical Center’s Outreach Lab, 115 Washington.
As a volunteer, he doesn’t get paid for the variety of tasks he does: registers blood donors, helps make them comfortable in the canteen, answers any questions they may have. But not being paid doesn't matter to Everett. As a volunteer, he doesn't do it for the money. He does it to help the Blood Center save lives. He knows he's helping to provide a vital service to his community. And he enjoys meeting new people along the way.
By donating their time and energy, volunteers like Everett help MCBC keep our operating costs down, a continuing goal of our nonprofit organization.
Volunteers also add a personal touch that is very important and irreplaceable. If you would like to become a volunteer, call 1-866-MIBLOOD to reach the Blood Center in your area.
