National Volunteer Week - April 18-24

04/20/2010

Michigan Blood would like to extend our heart-felt appreciation to the more than 500 volunteers who give their time to help save lives across the state. Our volunteers perform a variety of tasks, from staffing the canteens to helping set up mobile blood drives to providing child care for donors. To learn more about our volunteers or to become one yourself, click on the "Volunteers" tab at the top of the site.

National Volunteer Week, a signature event of Points of Light Institute, celebrates ordinary people doing extraordinary things to improve communities across the nation. Commemorating the one-year anniversary of the Edward M. Kennedy Serve America Act and the Volunteer Generation Fund, this year's theme -- Celebrating People in Action -- honors individuals who take action and solve significant problems in their communities.
